A Cooperative Urban Infill Development

Bell Trading Post is a cooperative urban infill development that includes the renovation of an existing building into lofts and 10 single family homes. The Bell Trading Post was built in 1946 and was in use as a Southwestern/Indian jewelry manufacturing business until 1974.  Since that time, the building has been used as the Indian Arts Pavilion, Albuquerque Photo Lab, and by Michaelson Metals.

The Bell Trading Post is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico at 1503 Central Avenue NW. The Southern section of the building with its prominent frontage on Central Avenue was designed with a Pueblo style architecture with stucco exterior and a bell tower. This creates an interesting contrast from the attached red brick warehouse architecture that extends along Laguna Avenue. The recently completed renovation reflects the original seven sided building plan and embraces the two different styles of the original structure.

There are 6 lofts available, with all six those lofts being offered to 1st time home buyers earning 80 percent or less of the area's median income.
